Our commitment to European Craftsmanship evolved from my training, education and achievement of the coveted Meisterbrief [Masters Degree in Cabinetmaking] in Germany in 1985.

Brief History
St Martins Lane Cabinetmakers was founded by Master Cabinetmaker Stefan Wilhelm, who emigrated to the United States in 1985. His formal training included a four year apprenticeship, a three year journeymanship and a three year Meisterbrief Masters Degree educational and practicum program. His Meisterbrief was earned at the Handwerkskammer Rheinhessen in Mainz, Germany.
Stefan opened St Martins Lane Cabinetmakers in November 1994 following five years as the general manager of the cabinetmaking division of a large architectural woodworking firm in Winchendon, MA, one year as master cabinetmaker for a large residential woodworking company in Worcester, MA, and two years as manager of cabinetmaking division of a nationally recognized timber frame homebuilders company in Alstead, NH.
Samantha Wilhelm joined the firm in early 1995 bringing with her 20 years of financial and business management experience.
St Martins Lane Cabinetmakers is a superior quality custom cabinetmaking and millworking business that caters to the upper end residential and building markets, primarily in the East Coast area of the United States.
